FVBA Hosts Equipment Drive thru Feb 19

By: Larry Krause

We share a common seam with kids around the world, Baseball.

Both Cuba and Dominican have hundreds of young enthusiastic baseball players who are in desperate need of equipment. The simplest of items are a luxury most families in Cuba and Dominican simply cannot afford.

Local businessman and baseball enthusiast Brian Finnie will be travelling on a baseball mission in early March to supply hundreds of kids with their first glove, bat or ball.

Fraser Valley Baseball is looking for gently used or new baseball items to accompany Brian to Cuba and the Dominican.

Over the past couple of years Brian has personally supported baseball in both countries and is returning again to light up the lives of young players. We can partner. As a Fraser Valley organization it was suggested that we become baseball missionaries, collecting as many items as possible to send along with Brian in March.

Both our Abbotsford Training Facility at Delair Park and Chilliwack’s Training Center on Prairie Central Road will be used as dropping points for any Baseball equipment you would like to donate.

Our deadline to receive Baseball goods will be Monday February 18th Family Day (because we are One Baseball Family) .

Please send a text or email to ensure we have staff at either Abbotsford or Chilliwack facility to Larryk@fvbaseball.ca / or text 604-621-6551.

Thanks for your partnership in the young lives of those less fortunate and love the game as much as we do.
