Covid-19 Update from Brad Robinson

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm hoping you're all doing well and, despite the suspended play sanctions from Baseball Canada, with my role in our organization I wanted to offer some positive support in a couple areas and in the spirit of helping the boys achieve their goals and feel good about what their doing right now.


I'd like to offer support for any player, coach or parent who might be struggling with their own Mental Health as a result of the current situation.  The unknown can sometimes be confusing and I have some tools to help shift that feeling so you feel better.


I'd like to offer some tips to optimize performance during the sanctions:

  1. Physical Health and staying active can help us stay focused and make a massive difference with mental health as well.  I have over 500 at home, no equipment workouts that can help keep the momentum up in the event that a gym is not an option.  If anyone would like any workouts, maybe I will make some videos and pdf's to share.

  2. Sleep.  Restorative Sleep is the number one performance enhancer.  If we can achieve good restorative sleep most nights, It helps with memory consolidation, immune system repair and detoxifying our brains.  It's like plugging in our phones and hitting update software.  I will attach some tips and for quality restorative sleep.

  3. Food.   Food is important for optimal function and performance. I find that switching our perception of food from eating for sport to eating to fuel our bodies, it allows us to ask the question, "is what I'm eating going to fuel my body?".  Now I'm not saying deprive yourself the food you love, especially right now with some possible limited resources,  just be consciously aware and it will make a big difference in daily performance as an athlete and a human.

  4. Self Care.  Take some time to put on your own air mask first.  It's not selfish, it's necessary, just like they say on the plane "put on your own air mask first before assisting others."  I will also attach some self care tips.

I hope some of this can help you and your family be the best version of yourself despite the changing outside environment.  If we can all support each other, while taking care of ourselves, be grateful and do the best we can with what we have, we will be successful in whatever we do in our lives.
